Xinda “Woodpecker” Adjustable Single/Double Pulley | Lightweight, Versatile, Remote-Controlled

Product Overview

The Xinda Adjustable Single/Double Pulley (Model: HH-8629, also known as the “Woodpecker”) is a high-performance personal protective equipment (PPE) device designed for fall protection, traversing aerial ropeways, cargo transport, rock climbing, rappelling, team building protection, towing, hoisting, and various pulley system applications. Constructed from high-strength aluminum and alloy steel, featuring built-in ball bearings, the device offers bidirectional adjustment and remote control capabilities, combining lightweight design with high load capacity.

Key Features

  • Adjustable Single/Double Rope Direction: Switch between single-way stopping mode and double-way pulley mode via the stop switch.
  • Remote Control: Supports remote mode switching using a 2mm Dyneema cord.
  • High-Strength Construction: Static strength 25kN, rolling strength 10kN (1kN ≈ 100kg force).
  • Lightweight Design: Weighs only 116g, easy to carry and operate.
  • Compatible Rope Diameter: 8–13mm kernmantle rope (EN892 dynamic rope / EN1891 semi-static rope).
  • Certifications: CE1019, EN567, EN12278.

Product Structure

  • Moving side plate (opens with 180° rotation)
  • Stop cam (with teeth)
  • Stop switch and gear connection holes
  • Pulley wheel (with ball bearings)
  • Attachment hole and auxiliary attachment hole
  • Rivets and locking system

Pre-Use Inspection

The following checks must be performed before each use:

  • Markings & Lifespan: Verify that the serial number and CE marking are clearly legible and that the product has not exceeded its service life.
  • External Damage: Check for deformation, cracks, scratches, excessive wear, and corrosion.
  • Side Plate & Rivets: Ensure the side plate rotates normally and that rivets are not loose or lacking elasticity.
  • Locking System: Test the locking mechanism and return spring for proper function.
  • Cam Condition: Check that the teeth are intact and clean, the spring has good tension, and rotation is smooth.
  • Pulley Condition: Ensure no foreign objects are present and that the pulley rotates freely in both directions.
  • Function Test: Install the pulley on an anchor, thread a compatible rope through it, and confirm that it slides in one direction and locks in the opposite direction.

⚠️ If the cam teeth are severely worn or missing, or if the stop cam is located on the outside of the pulley, the stopping function will be completely disabled. The product must be taken out of service immediately.

Operating Modes

1. Single-Way Stopping Mode (Ascent / Progress Capture Function)

  • Stop switch releases the cam → rope slides in one direction, locks in the reverse direction.
  • Working load: 1.2kN.
  • When ascending a vertical rope, this device must be used together with another ascender.
  • Important: The user must always be positioned below the device (fall factor must not exceed 1).

2. Double-Way Pulley Mode

  • Stop switch locks into the gear → rope moves freely in both directions.
  • Working load limit: 4kN.
  • Breaking load: 20kN.
  • Efficiency: 91%.

3. Remote Mode Switching

  • Attach thin cords (recommended: 2mm Dyneema) to the connection holes on the stop switch and the stop gear.
  • Remote control of single/double rope direction is possible, suitable for high-altitude or confined environments.

Compatibility Requirements

  • Rope: Use only 8–13mm kernmantle rope (EN892 or EN1891).
  • Carabiner: Must use a locking connector; O-shaped or pear-shaped recommended. Ensure the carabiner is loaded along its major axis.
  • Before use, confirm compatibility between all components (proper functional interaction).

Important Usage Notes

  • Regularly inspect the condition of the product and its connection points with other equipment.
  • Prevent dirt, ice, snow, debris, or other foreign objects from entering the cam mechanism.
  • Braking performance varies depending on rope condition (wear, moisture, ice, etc.).
  • Visually confirm that the stop cam is on the inside of the pulley; otherwise, the stopping function will fail.
  • Never exceed the product’s load limits or use it for purposes other than its intended design.

When to Retire the Product

The product must be immediately retired and destroyed to prevent accidental use if any of the following conditions apply:

  • It has experienced a severe fall or overload.
  • It fails inspection or shows suspected damage.
  • You have any doubt about its safety.
  • You do not know the product’s full usage history.
  • Retirement is required due to legal, standard, technical, or compatibility issues.
  • Normal wear, oxidation, unauthorized modification, improper storage, or misuse has occurred.

Responsibility

Users must receive specialized training, fully understand all instructions, and assume full responsibility for their actions and safety. Ignoring warnings may result in serious injury or death.
